Youth United

About Us.

Youth United is an affinity group of United Way of St. Lucie & Okeechobee that was started in January 2023. The purpose of this group is to bring youth together to contribute their personal passions, best ideas, and unique strengths to the mission of building stronger communities.

Youth United is a dynamic community of high school-aged students committed to making a difference. Through volunteer efforts with local nonprofits, they ignite positive change and create lasting impacts in their communities. At the heart of their mission is the Readers United program, a captivating reading event designed to inspire children and promote literacy. Youth United not only fosters a spirit of giving back but also cultivates charitable individuals who understand the importance of community involvement. Together, they exemplify the power of youth-driven initiatives in shaping a brighter future for all.

Youth United is at the forefront of community service, collaborating with a diverse range of local nonprofits. From partnering with the St Lucie County Sheriff PAL to supporting the Children's Services Council, CareBag, United Against Poverty, and the Inner Truth Project, they tackle various societal issues with dedication and compassion. Recently, their involvement in events like back-to-school drives, mobile hygiene and food pantry initiatives, as well as 5K benefit runs, highlights their commitment to addressing community needs comprehensively. Through their active participation and engagement, Youth United inspires positive change and fosters a culture of giving back among young individuals.
