YOUTH UNITED

Youth United, an initiative by United Way of St. Lucie and Okeechobee, is dedicated to empowering young people through personal growth and community service. This program offers high school students meaningful volunteer opportunities, essential life and career skills development, and hands-on involvement in community projects. By fostering civic responsibility and providing valuable connections, Youth United equips young individuals with the tools to become impactful leaders in their communities.

  • VOLUNTEER HOURS

Each month, we offer at least one volunteer opportunity with a partnered organization or non-profit, in addition to 1-2 home meetings that count toward volunteer hours.

  • PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

We provide training in essential personal development skills, including communication, time management, leadership, and more.

  • CAREER DEVELOPMENT

We offer training in crucial career development skills, including resume writing, job interview techniques, outreach strategies, and more.

  • CONNECTIONS

By collaborating with a range of non-profit and local organizations, you'll build meaningful connections within the community that will significantly benefit your personal and professional growth.

Monthly Meetings:

We meet on the first Thursday of every month, dividing our time into two sections:

  • Presentations: A local organization will share insights into their work and opportunities for involvement.
  • Training: Here we focus on personal and career development, helping students build essential skills for their future.
Volunteer Opportunities:
  • After each meeting, there will be at least one volunteer opportunity—typically with the presenting organization, though sometimes with other organizations.
  • Additional volunteer opportunities may be available depending on the month.
  • Students are encouraged to suggest volunteer opportunities they find.
Additional Meetings:
  • We often offer a second meeting in the month dedicated to certificate training.

Prior to earning volunteer hours, students must fill out the following forms.
