WHO WE ARE
Imagine a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. At the United Way of St. Lucie County & Okeechobee, we’ve been working towards that vision for over 60 years and created real, measurable change. Our impact areas include fostering a Healthy Community, expanding Youth Opportunities, ensuring Financial Security, and building Community Resiliency. We focus on supporting ALICE families—those Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed—who are the backbone of our community but often one step away from hardship.
We’re more than just an organization; we're a mobilizing force. We connect individuals, non-profits, and volunteers, creating a network of support that strengthens and unites our community.
ACCOUNTABILITY & FINANCIALS
United Way of St. Lucie & Okeechobee would not be a successful agent for change without the trust and confidence of its donors and volunteers. To continue to earn that trust, we have established comprehensive accountability guidelines that are regularly viewed by our Board of Directors and Finance Committee. As part of our efforts to be both accountable and transparent in our operations, our annual audit, and IRS Form 990 are available. The programs we invest in are helping real people right here in our community, which is why real people just like you determine where the donations go. We use a Citizen Review Panel of community volunteers to determine which organizations receive funding from our branch, ensuring transparency and integrity at every step of the way.
