Get Transportation Assistance with Ride United

Ride United Graphic

The Ride United program, a collaboration between United Way and Lyft, is here to help those in our community who are struggling with transportation barriers. We understand that for many, getting to essential services like healthcare, employment, or the grocery store can be a challenge. That’s why Ride United is helping provide free or reduced Lyft rides to St. Lucie County residents who need it most, helping them get to medical appointments, job interviews, work, and other critical destinations.

This program is designed as a stepping stone to help you regain reliable transportation and move closer to self-sufficiency. We want to help you get to the places that will allow you to thrive—whether that’s accessing healthcare, securing employment, or simply meeting daily needs.

To participate, eligible individuals must contact a local participating agency to determine eligibility and schedule a ride. Ride scheduling is available Monday through Friday during working hours, with evening and weekend rides available upon pre-scheduled request.

For more information and eligibility requirements, please click the drop-down menus below.

A special thank you to Cleveland Clinic for their generous funding of this program in Saint Lucie County. With their support, we can help make reliable transportation a reality for those who need it most.

Drivers are not employed through United Way; they are local community members employed by Lyft.

This free service is available to St. Lucie residents or clients of a participating agency who need transportation for any of the following areas:

  • Health appointments
  • Employment opportunities
  • Procurement of food
  • Educational
  • Legal
  • Housing
  • Economic stability

Client must be a St. Lucie resident and 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult.

Please note that rides are not provided for convenience purposes, such as avoiding bus rides, but are intended for individuals who need assistance reaching vital services. This program is designed to support those facing transportation challenges, and we have limited funding available. If you are in need of this service, we encourage you to utilize it, but kindly refrain from using it if it is not essential for your needs. Thank you for understanding.
